2016 Tour De Arts

Soiree on Oct 20th,  Studios open 21 and 22

Summary of the Event:

Tour De Arts is a self-guided Artist studio tour centered in the Tri Cities and surrounding areas of Washington State.  Its primary focus is to promote and sell local artists works. Its secondary focus is to educate the public about the advantage of purchasing artists work.  

October 20th ; 6pm to 9pm all artists are required to participate in an opening Invitational gala event at Tucannon Winery 40504 Demoss Rd, Benton City, WA 99320.  Each Artist will have a place to show their art and to talk with invited guests about future sales. Each Artist can add their patrons to the invitation list.  Tour de Arts will send out the invitations to this event.  Artist shall be set up by 5:30pm and parked in the overflow parking area.

In addition to the art, we will have music, wine and light hor de%u2019ouves and wood fired pizza.  Wine and Pizza will be no-host and provided by Tucannon Winery.

October 21 and 22, your studio (this could be a collaborative studio with more than one artist) will be open to the public from 10 am to 6pm. Each studio should provide a light snack and refreshments, and a Draw Box.  Each artist will provide each visitor with an entry form to win $100.00 towards a purchase of the winning studio or artist art.  The 100 dollars will be provided by tour de Arts to the winning artist upon the receipt of a sale.

At the end of the studio tour, one ticket from each studio/artist will be drawn from their studio tour box.  These will be put in the final draw box and the winner will be selected.  It will be up to the winning artist to contact the Patron and give them the good news.

Application and Requirements

1.    Must be a member of cyber arts 509

All artists must be a member of 509 to participate.  If you are currently not on Cyber Arts 509 membership please enclose $12.00

2.    Application Fee

$50 dollars* fee to participate in the tour.  We are budgeting $2000 dollars for the event to cover postage, food, maps, etc.  We hope to get 40 artists to participate, if we have less, then all participating artists will be required to split the difference.  If we get more artists, then we will have seed money for the next tour. 

               

3.    Artist should apply by filling out the attached form and submitting one representational photo of their work to Pam Sharp 89417 summit View Drive, Kennewick Wa 99338. Please enclose your payment made out to Cyber Arts 509.   The artwork that you supply will be used in the brochure/map and any advertising.

 

4.   Deadline for Submitting is August 20th .

 

5.   we are accepting the following art disciplines into the tour.  All art must be made by the artist and represented by the artist.

Painting/ Drawing: Works created using wet and dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayon, etc. or from the fluid medium of inks, washes and paints applied by hand are to be entered in this category. Signed Limited Edition prints of original works are permitted.

Glass Fused and Slumped: All fused and slumped glass works are accepted into this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed.

 

Glass Hand-blown. : All hand blown glass items are to be entered into this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed

Glass Stained: All handmade stained glass works are to be entered into this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed

Metal work:All non-sculptural handmade works are to be entered into this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed

Paper: All handmade works of paper art or craft are to be entered into this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed.

 

Photography: All photographic works including digital are to be entered into this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed and be a limited edition.

 

Sculpture: All sculptural works of art are to be entered in this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed

Recycled art: Items that use more that 50% recycled material. All pieces must be signed by the artist.

Jewelry Fine: Handmade jewelry using precious metals; gem quality stones and or a high degree of design are accepted into this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed, no other jewelry will be accepted.

Ceramics:    No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed.

Raku: All original raku work is accepted in this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed.

Clay Other: This category includes any original work made from clay.

Wood and wood carving:  Must be handmade, no mass produced or machine made is permitted.

Other, art not covered above, but still handmade.  With no mass produced or machine made items permitted. Multiple pieces of the same design must be signed.

 

6.   Artist must participate in the opening gala event

7. Each Artist shall determine the best fit for style.  This will give patrons an easy road map for selection.
